Roulette odds calculator

Choose a wheel and enter the bet coverage and net payout. The model assumes each pocket is equally likely and rounds are independent.

Default example: 1/37 = 2.7027% chance of a winning round. At a 35:1 net payout, house edge is 1/37 = 2.7027%.

How the calculation works

Let p = numbers covered ÷ wheel pockets and b = net payout to 1. Expected net per dollar is p × b − (1 − p). House edge is the negative of that value. A winning $10 bet at 35:1 earns $350 profit and returns $360 including stake.

On a 37-pocket wheel, a straight-up bet has p = 1/37. Expected net per dollar = (35 − 36)/37 = −1/37. On a 38-pocket wheel with the same payout, the result is −2/38. Do not apply these assumptions to side bets, multipliers, en prison or la partage.

The chance of at least one winning round is 1 − (1 − p)n. It is not the chance of ending the session ahead: multiple losing stakes can outweigh a win.
