Pennsylvania August revenue falls overall while iGaming grows
The September 17 release shows different directions for statewide gaming revenue and online casino revenue.

Two different results
Pennsylvania’s regulator reported $569.74 million in combined gaming revenue for August 2026, down 2.16% from August 2025. Its September 17 release separately reports $245.70 million in internet casino revenue, up 6.25% year over year.
Do not confuse the measures
The statewide total and the online casino subtotal answer different questions. Growth in a component can coexist with a decline in the combined total. A headline about overall revenue should not be read as saying that every product declined.
Revenue also differs from handle, which measures the volume staked. Readers comparing sports wagering and casino figures should inspect the definitions before drawing conclusions about customer activity. The percentages quoted here refer to the regulator’s year-over-year comparison, not month-over-month growth.
Limits of a monthly comparison
One month cannot establish a long-term trend or identify a single cause for a change. Calendar effects, customer outcomes and changes in the reporting set can matter. The release supplies a basis for further analysis; it does not demonstrate that an individual operator provides better games, quicker withdrawals or a more suitable product for a particular reader.
